WWILLIAMSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyMEDIA RELEASE SHOOTING IN GEORGETOWN, TX January 9, 2024 At approximately 11:45 pm on January 8, 2024, Williamson County Emergency Communications received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 300 block of County Road 317 outside the city limits of Georgetown. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies encountered Seth B. Carnes, a 45-year-old white male, exiting the residence. Seth Carnes confessed to the deputies that he had just shot and killed his mother and father. The victims have been identified as Susan H. Carnes, a 74-year-old white female, and Alfred "Burt" Carnes, a 74-year-old white male, further identified as a retired former District Judge in Williamson County. All are identified as residents of the home. Seth Carnes was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, where he has been charged with Capital Murder. He is currently being held without bond. Upon entry into the home, detectives discovered the bodies of Susan and Alfred Carnes, both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The preliminary investigation suggests that the murders resulted from a disagreement, escalating into family violence and death. The criminal prosecution has been referred to the District Attorney's Office. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further information is available at this time. Commander John Foster of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division said “This deeply distressing incident has sent shockwaves through our community, particularly considering Alfred "Burt" Carnes' esteemed position as a retired District Judge. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family affected by this heartbreaking event.” The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work diligently alongside the District Attorney's Office to ensure a thorough investigation into this tragic incident. KK. U.Walburg·a week agoHey, Neighbors. Our neighbors, the Wilson's, have lost their dog, Emmy. She went missing sometime on Friday. Emmy belongs to their eldest daughter who is heart-broken. Emmy is about 3 years old, a small-medium dog, roughly about 22-25 pounds by my guess. She's very energetic, fast, and can jump. I want to help them get her back. Here is a picture of her. Has anyone seen her? Kim1Like
