As a student at Oregon State University, my time here has been a blend of rigorous academics, vibrant campus life, and personal growth. Reflecting on my experience, there are several aspects I truly appreciate and a few areas where I believe improvements could be made. What I Like, OSU offers a robust array of academic programs that cater to diverse interests and career goals. As a student, I’ve found the quality of education to be exceptional. The faculty members are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in student success. The hands-on approach in many programs, including labs, internships, and fieldwork, enhances learning and prepares us for real-world challenges. However, there are areas where improvements could enhance the student experience, including housing and meal affordability, and diversity and inclusion efforts. By addressing these areas, OSU can further strengthen its position as a leading institution that supports and empowers its students.

Going to be a freshman, but the overall experience going into Orientation and my visit has been nothing but welcoming. And as soon as I visited I knew it was going to be the school I would attend. I was so set out on being an Oregon State student I only applied to one other school during my selection process. The campus is beautiful, the safety of the students is a priority, extracurriculars, clubs, and hobbies are made at home at this school. And I am more than excited to meet all the new people that are to come with it. I’ve always felt a little out of place in my high-school environment at home. I know Oregon and the campus is going to have the people that understand me and see the positive in all. Beyond the good memories, the resources and teachers at the university will help me fulfill my educational goals. Go Bevs!

I first attended Oregon State University in the Fall of 2010, on campus. I did not enjoy campus life, I much preferred my community college experience. The campus itself is gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing. The food options and social scene were my favorite. I didn't like the disconnect between the professors and myself. I get that it's typical of a University but it just wasn't for me. Professors weren't as personable as those at my community college and they didn't seem as engaged with how I was doing as a student or if I understood the materials being taught to me. Several course I took were taught by Teachers Assistants and I felt that it was not a good value for the money.
I returned to Oregon State as a student, in the Fall of 2016, via ecampus, online & had a wonderful experience. I had no trouble seeking and utilizing student resources, online and the tutors available to me were extremely helpful, when I needed extra assistance, or misunderstood something.
